One of Evelyn's favorite hymns was sang at the memorial service.
In memory of Evelyn--These are the words--
JESUS PAID IT ALL
I hear the Savior say, "Thy strength indeed is small, Child of weakness,
watch and pray, Find in me thine all in all".
Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
Lord, now indeed I find Thy power, and Thine alone, Can change the
Leper's spots, and melt the heart of stone.
Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
For nothing good have I Where-by Thy grace to claim---
I'll wash my garments white In the blood of Calvary's Lamb.
Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
And when, be-fore the throne, I stand in Him complete,
"Jesus died my soul to save," My lips shall still re-peat.
Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
Thought for today--Never under-estimate the smallest deed you do for others. In the "body of Christ" a toe is just as important as another more prominent part of the body. Continue to be faithful in your service for the Lord.
Footnote: Evelyn was a very generous person and would donate to so many causes that she heard about. We counted about 61 organizations she donated to and many of these were repeated every 2 or 3 times during the year. She would do this even when she herself would be of need for something.

I'm glad you shared the poem from mom and Aunt Carol... that was really cute! The words to the hymn are really powerful too. I'm glad that it was such a great day to celebrate Aunt Evy's life. She was definitely a giver!
